This Institute, devoted basically to social science research
and studies, was established in 1981. The Institute is named
after the late Yashwantrao Chavan, the chief architect of
modern Maharashtra and former Deputy Prime Minister of India.
Besides, undertaking research projects in various social sciences,
the Institute also conducts Master's programme in Business
Studies (MBS), which is opted for, by students from different
parts of India. This programme is designed to be equivalent
to the MBA programme in its academic contents. There is a
provision in this programme to have dual specialization in
any two of the following areas:
- Marketing
- Human Resource Development
- Information Technology
The Institute also offers a Postgraduate Diploma Programme
in Computer Science. It is conducted in collaboration with
OPTIMOS which is a USA based company. This diploma course
is designed to train students in updated and latest computer
technology.
The focus of activities of the Institute is on the interdisciplinary
research. It also conducts human resource development training
programmes for different organizations. |
